What are your recommended years for specific literature classes?

Typically, students are more successful if they follow this order for literature:

General
American
British
World.

This recommendation is based on the difficulty of reading material and translations. World literature involves material translated from a variety of other languages making it more challenging. Another consideration is content. Some of the topics in British and World literature involve content more appropriate for a mature student.
